The East Village is about to get an injection of old school cool — in the form of HOWL! ARTS PROJECT 2010. Presented by HOWL! Arts Project and The Actors Fund, the September festival offers up theater, performance art, music, poetry, film and youth-friendly entertainment — all in the service of intellectually engaging audiences and raising funds for HOWL! HELP (an emergency services assistance and health fund for East Village artists who can’t afford to wait for Obamacare).
HOWL! ARTS PROJECT 2010 runs from Sept. 2 through 30, at Theatre 80 (80 St. Marks). For tickets ($5 to $20), purchase at the theatre on the day of show or in advance
at www.brownpapertickets.com. Or call 800-838-3006. The 7th Annual outdoor HOWL! Festival runs Sept. 10-12 in and around Tompkins Square Park, between 7th and 10th Sts. and Avenues A and B in the East Village. For the complete schedule of events, visit www.howlfestival.com.
