City Council Speaker Christine Quinn reported for jury duty on Monday at County Criminal Court, with what looked to be an iced coffee in hand. According to a spokesperson, Quinn had “made it clear that she didn’t want special treatment and was happy to serve.” But the speaker, along with others in her part, was released from jury duty later that afternoon, since there wasn’t a need to empanel them on any juries at that particular moment.
