Steve O’Halloran, 48, 6th Precinct officer

Steve O’Halloran, a police officer in the Sixth Precinct in the Village until he retired in February 2004, died on Oct. 13 at the age of 48. He had been ill and hospitalized off and on for about a year, according to Frank Lohr, a friend.

One of 11 siblings, he became a police officer in January 1985 and served in the Sixth Precinct his entire career. He walked the Christopher St. beat for several years and also served as a community affairs officer.
