Fashion Week is here! While the big shows are concentrated around Lincoln Center, Lower Manhattan will play host to a number itself. At Spring Studios on Varick between Laight and Beach Sts., shows on Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday evenings, and Wednesday mid-morning will spell slow exits from the Holland Tunnel.
Other spots to watch out for: midday Thursday on Greenwich and Carlisle Sts., Thursday rush hour on Howard St. at Lafayette St., and Thursday evening on Orchard St. at Grand St.; Friday rush hour on Mulberry and Prince Sts.;Monday rush hour on West St. at Spring St.; and midday Wednesday on West Broadway at Canal St.
The Manhattan-bound Brooklyn Bridge will close 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. ThursdayMonday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights.
Thursday night tunnel trouble ahead: In the Lincoln Tunnel, the New York-bound tube will close 11 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. This will send inbound traffic to the Holland Tunnel, where one lane will close in each direction during the same hours. Avoid a late-night return if you can.
In their first home game of the season, the Jets take on the Raiders 1 p.m. Sunday at Metlife Stadium. Expect extra traffic at the Holland as drivers jam the Lincoln.
If you see more people on bikes than usual this Sunday, here’s why: The NYC Century Bike Tour rolls through Lower Manhattan on Sunday morning, and while no streets will close, be mindful of extra bike traffic on Bleecker St. between Hudson St. and Broadway, Broadway between Bleecker and Worth Sts., and Lafayette St. between Worth and Centre Sts. Cyclists will also cross the East River via the Brooklyn Bridge.
In Battery Park City, the Bike and Beats event will kick off from Little West St. between 1st and 2nd Pls. at 2 p.m. and travel up the Hudson River bike path.
The San Gennaro Festival will officially start on Thursday, Sept. 11, but the set-up will start on Monday and continue through Wednesday, closing Mulberry St. between Canal and East Houston Sts., and Grand and Hester Sts. between Mott and Centre Sts. 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day.
No uptown 1 or 2 service at Franklin, Canal, Houston, or Christopher Sts 11:45 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, or 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Wednesday nights. Take the 1 or 2 train to 14 St and transfer to a downtown local train.
No Brooklyn-bound F service at Broadway-Lafayette, Second Ave., Delancey St, or East Broadway 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Wednesday nights. F trains will run via the A line from W 4 St to Jay St-MetroTech.
