Velazquez gets green for green market

Congressmember Nydia Velazquez will present the Lower East Side Business Improvement District’s Farmer’s Market with a check for $37,500, which she secured through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The Lower East Side BID’s Farmer’s Market, in collaboration with Cornell University’s Cooperative Extension Garden Mosaics and Urban Agriculture Project, will offer affordable fresh fruits, vegetables and other products from regional small farmers.
