Vornado takes down too-big sign

It seemed like no one other than The Villager was raising objections, but finally Vornado recently took down its illegally oversized billboard advertising space for rent inside the former Bradlee’s department store on Union Sq. S. The Villager was the first to report that the sign did not comply with the square’s special signage rules. Sid Dinsay, a Department of Buildings spokesperson, said, “We did issue them a violation, for which taking the sign down was the remedy.”
