The day after Halloween in Tompkins Square Park, curious neighborhood kids examined an “interactive art exhibit”: A blue-headed Minotaur lay on the ground, held by a chain around his ankle by a heavily made-up geisha sitting by the base of a tree. Two other blue-bull-headed figures — quietly evoking the mythical monster who lived in a labyrinth — sat on a nearby park bench, reading newspapers, in the background.
