Waring is new Grace Church rector

The Reverend J. Donald Waring, at left in photo above, was formally installed as the 14th rector of Grace Church by The Right Reverend Mark S. Sisk, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, at a Sept. 15 ceremony at the landmarked Grace Church on Broadway at E. 10th St. Reverend Waring has appointed Reverend Linda Bartholomew to serve as assistant to the rector and Reverend Astrid Storm to serve as curate. Reverend Waring came to Grace Church in July from St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Terrace Park, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati. While he was a divinity student at General Theological Seminary in Chelsea, he served as a seminarian at Grace Church. He is married to Stacie Soule Waring and they have two sons, ages 5 and 2. Reverend Bartholomew was canon at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati and will be responsible for pastoral care and parish life at Grace Church. Reverend Storm, a 2001 graduate of Yale Divinity School, was associate priest at St. Luke in Darien, Conn. She will be involved in educational programs at Grace Church.
