A young man was stabbed in Manhattan on Monday afternoon after getting into a brawl with a group of individuals, police reported.
The incident occurred at around 3:02 p.m. on March 17 on West 56th Street and 10th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen.
Law enforcement sources reported that the victim, an 18-year-old man, got into a physical dispute with a number of other individuals believed to be of a similar age; however, police did not specify how many were involved.
During the melee, authorities said, a suspect stabbed the young man in the back, leaving him wounded.
The group disbursed by the time officers from the Midtown North Precinct responded to the scene. EMS rushed the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
It is unclear what sparked the melee. No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues.
