Babysitter’s Training This 2-session babysitter’s training for boys and girls ages 11-15 teaches young babysitters to handle unexpected situations calmly and competently. Designed to increase leadership skills and professionalism, the course covers such topics as essential safety, first aid, safe play and basic care skills. March 8, 2-7:30pm. Films for Kids“Bentwood Box” (1985, 9 min.) explores the making of a traditional Northwest Coast-style box by hand without using nails, screws, or glue. “Tales of Wesakechak: Wesakechak and the First Spring Flood” (2002, 13 min.) is about a trickster named Wesakechak. In “Dab Iyiyuu: First Steps”(2003, 24 min.) a Cree community in Ontario observes the traditional celebration of the “first steps” of its very young children. The Further Adventures of Uncle Wiggily: Windblown VisitorsA verse play with music for young audiences that describes the dislocation of families during Hurricane Katrina.
