Cops find man shot to death inside Brooklyn apartment

Police in Brooklyn found a 24-year-old man fatally shot inside an apartment building in Brooklyn early on Sunday morning.

Cops from the 75th Precinct responded to a 911 call about a man shot inside the residence near the corner of Montauk and Dumont Avenues in East New York at about 12:50 a.m. on Jan. 10. 

Upon arriving at the scene, they found the victim, Shamal Harris of Lewis Avenue, unconscious and unresponsive, with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso within a first-floor apartment.

Responding paramedics pronounced Harris dead at the scene. 

At this point, police have not yet ascertained a motive for the shooting, or a description of the suspect(s) involved.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
