Brooklyn police are looking for the shooter who gunned down a man early on Saturday morning.

The deadly gunfire erupted at about 2:12 a.m. on April 20 at an apartment building near the corner of Clarkson Avenue and East 52nd Street in East Flatbush, law enforcement sources said.

Officers from the 67th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about shots fired at the location, found 40-year-old Anthony Lancaster shot three times — twice in the back, and once in the head, according to police.

Responding EMS units pronounced Lancaster dead at the scene; he had lived on East 95th Street in Brownsville.

Throughout Saturday morning, NYPD Crime Scene Unit members combed the East Flatbush crime scene looking for evidence.

Police sources have yet to disclose a possible motive for the shooting, or a suspect’s description. No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the homicide can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA). You can also submit tips online at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, or on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.

Through April 14, the 67th Precinct had tallied 5 homicides year-to-date, equal to the number recorded at the same point in 2023, according to the most recent CompStat report. The command, however, reported a 50% decrease in shootings up to that point, from 10 last year to 5 this year.
