Police have identified the man who was shot dead above a Manhattan bar early on Saturday morning, police reported.
Law enforcement sources said Anton Albert, 39, of Bunnell Court on Staten Island, was gunned down at 288 Elizabeth St. in Nolita at about 3:22 a.m. on March 1. The building houses the Tom & Jerry Bar on the ground level; it was closed when police arrived.
Officers from the 9th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the incident, found Albert shot twice in the chest and another time in the stomach.
EMS rushed him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
Anyone with information regarding the homicide can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA). You can also submit tips online at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, or on X (formerly Twitter) @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
