The NFL Draft is rapidly approaching and the Giants are continuing to bring in players for in-person looks.
That now includes Alabama defensive back Brian Branch who will stop by the Giants’ East Rutherford training facility on Wednesday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The versatile corner played across the Alabama secondary last season and recorded 172 total tackles, 4.0 sacks, three interceptions and 23 pass breakups.
The Crimson Tide used him everywhere from slot corner to down in the box to blitz.
Branch was given a 96 production score by Next Gen Stats and a 58 athleticism score. Next Gen gave Branch an 85 total score, which ranked him fifth among corners at this year’s NFL Combine.
Branch is projected to go in the first round of this year’s draft and the Giants have had success with past defensive backs from Alabama, Where head coach Brian Daboll had been an offensive coordinator in 2017. Safety Xavier McKinney also was an Alabama product.
“I never got to play with him, but I know BB well. He’s a great player,” McKinney said about Branch earlier this week.
Branch visited with the Texans, Commanders, Raiders. Vikings, Lions, and Eagles already.
