A host of Broadway stars will appear Tuesday at 10 p.m. on the new NBC variety show “Maya & Marty,” hosted by Maya Rudolph and Martin Short, to perform their special version of “What the World Needs Now Is Love.”
The Burt Bacharach-Hal David classic was recorded for “Broadway for Orlando,” an initiative to help the LGBT community after the recent mass murder at a gay club in that Florida city.
Scheduled to appear are Roger Bart, Tituss Burgess, Charles Busch, Ann Hampton Callaway, Paul Castree, Michael Cerveris, Kevin Chamberlin, Lilla Crawford, Cynthia Erivo, Victor Garber, Ana Gasteyer, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Frankie James Grande, Whoopi Goldberg, Joel Grey and Sean Hayes.
Additionally, Megan Hilty, James Monroe Iglehart, Judy Kuhn, Jose Llana, Anika Larsen, Beth Malone, Andrea Martin, Janet Metz, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Jessie Mueller, Kelli O’Hara, Rory O’Malley, Orfeh, Christine Pedi, Rosie Perez, Billy Porter, Alice Ripley, Chita Rivera, Keala Settle, Kate Shindle, Jennifer Simard, James Wesley, Juli Wesley, Lillias White, Marissa Jaret Winokur and B.D. Wong are also scheduled to lend their voice.
