Kerry Washington, Nnamdi Asomugha expecting 2nd child, reports say

Are “Scandal” star Kerry Washington and her husband, former NFL pro Nnamdi Asomugha, expecting their second child?

Following her weekend appearance at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, D.C., where the actress, 39, appeared visibly pregnant, E! News said on Monday that two sources independently confirmed she is expecting. A spokeswoman for the two-time Emmy Award nominee told Newsday the actress does not comment on her private life. Washington has not responded on social media.

The actress, whose films include “The Last King of Scotland” (2006), “Django Unchained” (2012) and HBO’s recent “Confirmation,” and Asomugha, 34, who retired in 2013 after 11 seasons with the Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, wed quietly on June 24, 2013, in Blaine County, Idaho. The couple had daughter Isabelle Amarachi in April 2014.

ABC, which is scheduled to announce its fall schedule in two weeks, is considering options for “Scandal” to work with or around Washington’s pregnancy, TVLine.com reported Monday. One option, the site said, involves delaying the show’s return until midseason. Her previous pregnancy led to ABC ordering four fewer episodes than planned for Season 3 and giving Washington less screen time, since her character Olivia Pope was not pregnant.
