Brooklyn detectives collared a local man Monday accused of fatally stabbing a 27-year-old woman this summer.
Antoine Thompson, 43, of Union Street allegedly knifed Jennifer Rodriguez, 27, of Wyandanch, Long Island at the corner of Belmont and Georgia Avenues in East New York at about 2:35 p.m. on Aug. 31.
Officers from the 75th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about an assault, found Rodriguez unconscious and unresponsive on the sidewalk, with stab wounds to her stomach and neck.
EMS rushed her to Brookdale University Hospital, where she died a short time later.
Police did not provide information about a possible motive for the attack, or if there was a prior connection between the suspect and victim.
Sources familiar with the case said that Thompson had been linked to the crime through identification from a witness.
Detectives charged Thompson on Oct. 18 on counts of murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
