A wild argument on a Brooklyn street turned deadly on Sunday night when a gunman fatally pulled the trigger on his rival, police said.

Cops said the shooting took place at about 9:18 p.m. along the dead-end block of Beekman Place near Flatbush Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.

Early in the investigation, detectives have yet to determine what sparked the beef between the gunman and the victim.

The exchange quickly turned heated, sources familiar with the investigation said, when the victim apparently lunged at the suspect, who then produced out a firearm and shot him in the neck and chest.

Following the gunfire, cops said, the perpetrator took off on foot in an unknown direction.

Officers from the 71st Precinct and EMS units rushed to the scene. EMS brought the victim to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.

So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.

The NYPD was not able to provide a description of the shooter, but law enforcement sources said that detectives are now examining nearby surveillance camera video looking for his image.
