After nearly three weeks, the band Cartel emerged from their bubble on Pier 54 at W. 13th St. The show started at 8 p.m., but it was only after several highlight reels and lengthy commercial breaks that, a half hour later, fireworks exploded on either side of the bubble and the band emerged. They proceeded to play three songs they had composed during their stay. One of the sponsors of the “Band in a Bubble,” Colonel Sanders of KFC, wandered through the crowd, above.
