Artful sales pitch

Lower East Side graffiti artist Carlucci painted a mural on construction fencing for a new hotel on Orchard St. The murals are part of an initiative by the Lower East Side Business Improvement District to make the area more inviting during the construction — another large project is also underway on the street — to help local businesses.
