The New York Giants return to the field at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon as Big Blue adjusted to life without star rookie running back Cam Skattebo, who is out for the season after suffering an ankle-injury against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8. The opponent this weekend, the San Francisco 49ers, have alternated wins and losses since a three-game winning streak to open the 2025 NFL season. Unfortunately for New York, San Francisco lost to Houston last weekend, so the 49ers arrive to MetLife Stadium primed for a win in Week 9.

Week 9: San Francisco 49ers (5-3) @ New York Giants (2-6)

Kick Off: 1:00 p.m. ET  (Sun., 11/02/25)

Location: MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, New Jersey)

The 49ers are a slim road favorite at -2.5 points, according to FanDuel.  New York’s offense has been effective over the last three weeks and has cleared the 48.5 point over/under over the last three weeks: last week at Philadelphia (58 total points), Week 7 at Denver (65), and Week 6 at home against the Eagles (51). San Francisco has cleared that over/under total once in the last three weeks, a 30-19 loss to Tampa Bay resulting in 49 total points on the scoreboard in Week 6.

Best Bet: Jaxson Dart 250+ Passing Yards

Dart has an opportunity to find some yards through the air against the 22nd-ranked passing defense in the NFL. San Francisco has allowed an average of 229 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks, and have taken the ball away via interception just once in half a season of gridiron action.

For his part, the Giants rookie QB has done well to protect the football with eight touchdown passes compared with three interceptions. This continues a trend he started in college beginning with the 2023 college football season at Ole Miss. As a junior, Dart tossed 23 touchdowns to five interceptions before following that up with a 29 touchdown-six interception campaign before being selected by the Giants in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

NFL Week 9 Odds: Dart Passing Yards vs. 49ers
Dart 200+ Passing Yards -152
Dart 225+ Passing Yards +124
Dart 250+ Passing Yards +220
Dart 275+ Passing Yards +390
Dart 300+ Passing Yards +640

Dart has collected 984 yards on a 60% passing percentage, with an average of 149 yards per game. He should be able to improve upon those numbers against a porous passing defense from San Francisco, particularly if Tyrone Tracy Jr. can fill the Skattebo-sized void in the backfield. If that occurs, there will be additional room for New York’s rookie to throw the football around the field at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
