Board 3 votes to revoke Mission’s license, as police also crack down

The Police Department and Community Board 3 are teaming up against the Mission bar on the Bowery, after a fatal shooting occurred outside the place in September. Saying that the club has also been plagued by other problems, Board 3 recently passed a resolution calling on the State Liquor Authority to revoke the club’s liquor license. Meanwhile, police recently brought a nuisance abatement action against the nightclub. According to Susan Stetzer, district manager of C.B. 3, Mission is fighting the nuisance abatement action — which can be used to permanently close a premises — in court. Police did not provide information on the nuisance abatement action by press time.

Stetzer said the board passed its resolution recommending revoking the club’s liquor license because they felt a coordinated effort against the club would help and wanted to do their part.
