The fourth annual Meet the Chefs event run by the Carmine Street Block Association held its annual food fest on Sept 17. David Gruber president, of CaSBA, reported that some 3,000-plus people came to sample the food prepared and donated by some 40 South Village restaurants. The weather held up, the restaurants prepared some of their most popular and exotic dishes and two bands preformed. Last year some $25,000 was donated to local Village organizations from the proceeds of the event.
