ARISTOPHANES IN BIRDONIA, A politi-comic theater/dance adaptation of “The Birds” by Aristophanes. The tale of Stan and Ollie who exit Hysterica to co-erect with the birds a utopia in the sky because “faith based initiatives” and fame obsess the government and the media and preemptive strikes result in war. Free Union Square Neighborhood Tour, The Union Square Partnership sponsors a two-hour tour exploring Union Square’s entertainment history, first as the birthplace of Vaudeville, and now as the “heart of Off-Broadway.” Stories of social movements and events, such as the first Labor Day Parade, explain how Union Square became a National Landmark. Home of the original Macy’s, Tiffany’s, Lord & Taylor and Academy of Music, the tour sheds light on Union Square’s continued neighborhood development. Every Saturday at 2pm. Meet at the Lincoln statue located at the 16th St. transverse in Union Square Park. Just show up, no reservations are necessary
