The family and friends of Julie Kurnitz, the singer and actress who died July 15 at the age of 61 of Marfan syndrome, will celebrate her life at a memorial service at 4 p.m. Sat. March 19 at Judson Memorial Church, 55 Washington Sq. S.
A Village resident for 40 years, she performed at the Judson Poets Theatre in the 1960s, in cabarets and in Woody Allen’s film “Radio Days.”
She was co-author and performer of the one-woman show, “Clinical Trials” about living with Marfan, a hereditary disease that affects the aorta. She also lectured and conducted workshops for people affected by genetic disorders.
