Union Square’s Evelyn’s Playground has been closed for a few weeks for a $150,000 renovation of its safety surface. Generous contributions of local residents and businesses who support the Union Square Partnership’s work in the park is making this happen. This work is necessary because of the heavy use that the popular play space has experienced since opening in December 2009. Work started at the end of April and should finish by next week, so the playground will be open for use before the start of the busy spring/summer season.
