Police are searching for a man and a young boy after they said a tourist called 911 late Thursday night, claiming the man offered the boy to him for sex.
According to the NYPD, the 50-year-old male tourist from California was walking in Central Park near Bow Bridge around 11:50 p.m. when he was approached by a 35-year-old man who was with a boy about 11 years old. Police said the man then asked the tourist if he would perform sex acts with the boy for $300.
The tourist declined and called 911 while trying to keep an eye on where the man and boy were headed, police said, but they disappeared before officers arrived.
So far, police have not been able to locate the two.
Police said the man has dark hair and is clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a black coat with a fur trim on the hood and jeans. The boy was wearing a red or orange jacket, police said.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-8477.
