E. Fourth St. residents and merchants were happy to see mail carrier Ely Garcia trudging along the snow-covered sidewalks Friday. It was a snow day for schools, but the mail must go through. “Oh, you’re delivering the mail today?” one person asked. “Of course,” Garcia laughed. “It’s part of ‘the motto.’” Garcia, who works out of the Cooper Station Post Office and is a mother of seven, was looking forward to finishing her route and playing with her children in the snow.
