Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a possible 2012 presidential candidate, addressed thousands of people outside City Hall Wednesday night for a “taxpayer tea party,” one of hundreds of events held around the country on April 15. Demonstrators criticized President Obama’s plan to allow taxes on the wealthiest income earners to revert back to pre-2001 levels, and the trillions of dollars of estimated long-term debt in his proposed budget.
