NYC weather: Rain, thunderstorms likely for part of July Fourth weekend

The beautiful weather on the Fourth of July likely won’t last through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain are likely after 1 p.m. on Saturday, per the NWS. The chance of storms continues until about 2 a.m. Sunday, the weather agency said.

Then, there’s a slight chance of showers on Sunday, but the sun is expected to come out during the day.

The high temperature on Saturday is predicted at around 85 degrees. It will cool slightly on Sunday, when the high is expected to be about 79 degrees.
