Saturday’s blizzard brought snow frolickers to Battery Park City’s Teardrop Park Sunday. The frigid temperatures also meant the park had plenty of the hoped-for icicles. The water that drips down the wall, which is made from Upstate quarry rocks, was expected to form plenty of icicles in the colder months. After the first cold snap, Battery Park City officials were disappointed with the results and have been experimenting with the water flow needed to get enough icicles without endangering visitors by creating icy walkways.
