A woman who tried to stop a loved one from being robbed in Lower Manhattan was shot dead for her trouble Monday night as her husband and son watched in horror, police said.

Ying Zhu Liu, 57, was gunned down by a cold-blooded robber at 44 Market St. at about 11 p.m. on Sept. 9, authorities said.

According to law enforcement sources, Liu’s 61-year-old husband told police that his 32-year-old son buzzed him into the apartment building, and two male suspects followed him. The husband and perpetrators took the elevator to the 8th floor, where the robbery occurred.

Police said the bandits displayed firearms in the 8th floor hallway and demanded his belongings.

Hearing raised voices, cops said Liu left her apartment with her son and attempted to intervene when one of the gunmen shot her in the face.

Cops said the suspects, who apprehended the husband’s cell phone, fled the building on foot.

Officers from the 5th Precinct responded along with EMS units, who pronounced Liu dead.

Police said one of the cold-blooded killers was last seen wearing a black and red hooded jacket, white sneakers, dark pants and black ski mask. The other was described as wearing a black hooded coat, black ski mask, black pants and black and white sneakers.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
