Elderly woman critically injured in Queens crash: NYPD

An elderly woman is in critical condition after a driver struck her in a Queens crash Saturday night, according to police. 

The 67-year-old was trying to cross 103rd Avenue, between 125th and 126th streets in Jamaica, Queens, around 11:20 p.m. on Aug. 6, when a motorist heading west in a Nissan Maxima sedan hit her. 

The victim was standing between two parked cars before she tried to cross the street, according to an NYPD spokesperson. 

Paramedics rushed her to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition, and the 22-year-old male driver stayed at the scene. 

Police have not made any arrests. 

There have been 20 previous crashes injuring 25 people on the two-way residential block over the past 11 years, concentrated at the two intersections of 125th and 126th streets, according to city data collected by Crash Mapper.
