After a successful Off-Broadway run in 2021, “Mike & Mindy’s Wild Weekend Jam” will host a limited run in New York City this summer.
From June 19 through July 20, the high-energy musical will take the stage at the Main Stage at the Players Theatre, located at 115 MacDougal St.
Created by Mark Corallo, “Mike & Mindy’s Wild Weekend Jam” is set in 90s Brooklyn and follows the journey of high school sweetheart Mike and Mindy as they navigate love, life and drama on their quest to make it big. Though Mike and Mindy work as a plumber and hairdresser, respectively, they never let go of their dream of being music stars.
The duo hosts weekly “Wild Weekend Jams,” which are a mix of music, dancing and eccentric relatives. Tensions rise when word gets out that a top music producer might stop by, and Mindy’s father Don does not approve. But will love, laughter and music be enough to hold the night, as well as their future, together?
The cast includes Justin Turner as Mike and Mackenzie Godfrey as Mindy. The show is co-written and produced by Mark with Eileen Nelson, directed by Peggy Lee Brennan, and choreographed by AJ Heard. The score is written by songwriters Bucky Heard and Timothy D. Lee of The Righteous Brothers.
Tickets start at $62, with VIP options available. VIP tickets include show merchandise, an autographed copy of the script signed by cast and creative team, a cast photo, and surprise sponsor goodies.
