The Wildlife Conservation Society — which runs the city’s zoos and aquarium — has released its top 10 animal photos for 2014.
Asked what the criteria was for choosing the photos, WCS spokesman Max Pulsinelli wrote, “It’s obviously subjective… but subject matter, image quality, opinion.”
The images include shots of everything from a Turkemenian flare-horned markhor herd to North American river otters.
