Four cops were injured Saturday when their patrol cars collided with another vehicle while responding to a crime in progress, police reported.
According to police sources, two patrol cars with lights flashing and sirens blaring crashed into another vehicle at around 7:30 p.m. on June 17. The collision happened at the intersection of Remsen and Seaview Avenues in Canarsie amidst a chaotic car chase.
The four injured officers were rushed to local hospitals, where they are reportedly in stable condition and are expected to make full recoveries.
Sources say the patrol cars were responding to a report that an individual had brandished a firearm in the area, which resulted in police pursuit of a vehicle that had sped away from the scene.
The police vehicles were swiftly towed from the scene.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
