Battle of the bulge on First Ave.

After a dangerous-looking bulge appeared in the wall of a building at the corner of 13th St. and First Avenue last week, the building’s tenants were evacuated and the Fire Department erected a temporary wooden brace against the bulge. As of Tuesday, a Department of Buildings spokesperson said the vacate order is still in effect and will remain so until more permanent shoring is completed by the owner and his contractors.
