Members of the Federation of East Village Artists attended the opening of an exhibition by Arteries — FEVA’s fine-arts component — at Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields’ office last week. Among the more than 200 people at the event were punk icon Legs McNeil, FEVA and HOWL! festival executive director Phil Hartman, Ramones artistic director Arturo Vega and Lollapalooza co-producer Matt E. Silver. Caron Eule’s dance company and guitarist Jann Klose performed. Said Borough President Fields: “Although it may not be the Louvre, I am extremely delighted and proud that my art gallery has afforded these fine artists of different genders, races, ages, backgrounds and cultures a unique public venue where they can put their talents on display.” The exhibition, including painting, photos, sculptures and installations by 10 artists, runs through Sept. 7, at 1 Centre St., 19th floor, Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Photo ID is required to enter building.
