Villager photos by Bob Arihood
Larry Otway, above, has been an East Villager for most, if not all, his life. His father owned the old Theater 80 on St. Mark’s Pl. He and his wife are practicing plain-dress Quakers. They attend church gatherings, which Quakers call “meetings.” Otway is known for having opinions on matters that many would consider eccentric.
Biker Billy, left, was homeless in the East Village and having a tough time of it, when things got even worse: He was stabbed on the Staten Island ferry. A former marine who was recently living on St. Mark’s Pl., he’s said to be recovering in a senior residence on Staten Island, where he’s from originally.
