It’s fun for Macho Man to help honor Y-M-C-Aaay!

With an added dash of disco flair this year, the Greenwich Village – Chelsea Chamber of Commerce held its annual gala dinner dance at the Kimmel Center penthouse last Thursday evening. Joining the many Village business owners and representatives of Village institutions was also one of the Village People; Randy Jones, the group’s original “cowboy,” helped present the evening’s honors. Randy Jones, near left, and Zella Jones, president of the Noho Neighborhood Association, were literally “jonesing” as they met at the gala. This year’s honorees were Lynne Brown, New York University senior vice president for university relations and public affairs, who was named Humanitarian of the Year; the McBurney YMCA, recipient of the chamber’s Member the Year award; and Bob Zuckerman, the chamber’s former executive director, who received G.V.C.C.C.’s Special Recognition Award.
