The city plans to digitize a collection of photos taken by the New York Police Department from 1914 and 1975. The images, which had been stored at several locations, including police headquarters, cover some of the city’s most infamous crimes.
The city received a $125,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to digitize the collection. It plans to begin the digitization process later this year. Here is a sneak peak from that collection.
