Gone from petty cash

The management of Animazing Gallery, 461 Broome St., between Mercer and Greene Sts., told police on July 16 that $2,400 was missing from petty cash. The money was missing from the $23,622 that had been recorded in the petty cash register 10 days earlier, according to a police report.

Bag grabbed on Canal

A 47-year-old woman who was shopping on Canal St. at Broadway shortly after noon on Thurs. July 20 discovered her bag had been snatched from her shoulder moments before when someone had bumped her, police said. The bag had $75 in cash and identification documents.

Village holdup

A gun-wielding robber stopped a man and a woman walking on W. 13th St. near Sixth Ave. at 12:40 a.m. Sun. July 23, and demanded money, police said. The 35-year-old man handed over his wallet and the robber fled. There were no injuries and no arrest.

Chelsea robber shoots

Two robbers, one with a gun, came up behind a man walking on W. 24th S t. at Sixth Ave at 4:40 a.m. Sun. July 23 and demanded money, police said.

The victim, 31, gave them his money and jewelry. The gunman fired a shot, missed, and fled with his accomplice in a car, police said. There were no injuries and no arrests.

East Village mugging

Police arrested three suspects, including two teenagers, for second-degree robbery of a man while he was walking in the area of Second Ave. and E. Houston St., during the early hours of Sat. July 22. Charged were Alexis Morales, 22, and Joshua Bartolomey, 16. The third defendant, a girl younger than 16, was separately charged as a juvenile and her name was not revealed.

The Criminal Court complaint said Morales grabbed the victim, 22, around the neck and lifted him off the ground while the girl took his cell phone and handed it to Bartolomey. Morales and Bartolomey were arraigned and are to appear in court July 27. The girl is to appear in family court.

The victim was treated at Bellevue hospital for face lacerations and released.

Swung knife

Police said Pierto Pinto, 35, of Brooklyn was arrested on Saturday for attempted assault, reckless endangerment and menacing after he waved a knife at a man exiting Bar None bar at 98 Third Ave. at 12th St. at 3 p.m.

Police said Pinto had not been inside the bar, that the two men had a dispute, and that Pinto did not hit the other man with the knife.
