Jeff T. Blau, president of The Related Companies, L.P., and member of the Union Square Partnership’s board of directors, above left, spoke with Principal Denise DiCarlo and teacher Jayson Heyward and a class of students, right, at Washington Irving High School on E. 17th St. and Irving Pl. last Wednesday morning. As part of the Principal for a Day program, co-sponsored by PENCIL (Public Education Needs Civic Involvement in Learning) and the Union Square Partnership, Blau toured the school, taught a class in the Information Technology program, and enjoyed a student-led performance. The Union Square Partnership has been operating a successful public/private partnership at Washington Irving High School for the past 10 years.
