Two teenagers shot and injured at Upper West Side public housing complex

Police are looking for the shooters who opened fire on two teenagers and injured them on the Upper West Side Monday night.

Authorities said the shooting happened at about 7:04 p.m. on Dec. 27 in the rear of a building within the Frederick Douglass Houses, at 865 Columbus Ave. 

According to law enforcement sources, the two victims were walking through the area when four unidentified individuals walked up to them and began firing shots in their direction.

One of the victims, approximate age unknown, took a bullet to his stomach, while the other victim, an 18-year-old male, was struck in the abdomen and forearm.

The shooters were long gone by the time officers from the 24th Precinct responded to the shooting.

EMS rushed both victims to Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown and under investigation, police sources said. No arrests in the case were reported as of Tuesday morning.
