Brooklyn detectives are on the hunt for the suspect who shot and killed a teenager in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting at the corner of West 36th Street and Surf Avenue in Coney Island just after 5:45 p.m. on April 27.
Officers from the 60th Precinct responded to the location and found the victim, an 18-year-old man, who suffered a gunshot wound to his chest.
EMS rushed the victim to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in critical condition; he would later succumb to his injuries. Police have withheld the victim’s identity, pending family notification.
A NYPD spokeswoman didn’t have any specific information on the suspect as of late Sunday evening.
Officers were seen canvassing the areas for evidence as they wrapped off the area with crime scene tape. So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.
