What’s new at Citi Field in 2024?: Mets offering new features, food this spring

What's New Citi Field Mets

A new season of Mets baseball means new attractions and eats for fans coming to Citi Field this summer.

AmNewYork was at the Queens ballpark to take in all the sites, sounds and tastes that you can expect in 2024.

New Attractions

Coming through Citi Field‘s main entrance and into the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, Mets fans will be greeted with a new team store, which doubled in size from last year thanks to the relocation of the Hall of Fame.

The 10,000-square-foot store will feature an expanded product assortment designed exclusively for the Mets, featuring collectibles, jerseys, and hats. To make the shopping process quicker and easier, the team has installed the largest RFID self-checkout system in Major League Baseball.

As for the Hall of Fame, memorabilia has been distributed throughout the park. Plaques of the 34 members can be found at the top of the Jackie Robinson Rotunda while the museum will be located in center field on the field-level concourse adjacent to Fan Fest.

For fans seated in rows one through eight directly behind home plate, a new Delta Sky360° Club awaits. The members-only area has been expanded nearly three times its size from last year to 7,000-plus square feet, featuring a private 50-foot bar, premium booth, and lounge seats, all-inclusive culinary experiences, and new artwork featuring the famous swing of franchise legend David Wright.

The Mets will also be introducing a dance team, named the “Queens Crew,” to perform during approximately 30 home games this season. The 19-member hype team will perform during breaks in the action and pregame festivities.

The Food

Citi Field boasts one of the top ballpark culinary experiences in pro sports, having been named the No. 1 Best Stadium Food in 2023 by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

The venue hasn’t lost a step, either, as it was honored as the No. 1 Best Ballpark Food in 2024.

Citi Field and the Mets worked with three celebrity chefs from Food Network, Judy Joo, Adam Richman, and Anne Burrell, to create an all-encompassing food menu to ensure unique culinary experiences for fans anywhere at the ballpark.

Adam Richman’s Burger Hall of Fame will be located in section 104, headlined by the French Onion soup burger and the Jucy Lucy — two Pat LaFreida patties with American cheese folded into the meat.

Anne Burrell’s Italian Eats, featuring a garlic bread chicken parm hero and loaded pepperoni chips, can be found in section 101.

Seoul Bird, which was overseen by Judy Joo, can be found at the promenade level. Crispy Korean fried chicken tenders served with chili chicken sauce headline this Korean Street Food spot.

Three local Queens joints will be featured at Citi Field’s “Taste of Queens,” throughout 2024. Poprice and its egg fried rice with a chicken teriyaki skewer will run there from March 28-May 14. From May 24-July 14, fans can get a taste of RyRy’s Kitchen and its jerk chicken sandwich. Benny’s Cuban Cafe will close out the season from July 25-Sept. 22 with its Cubano.
