Police continue to iron out details on how a 38-year-old Staten Island woman was shot to death in the head just after midnight on Thursday.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene at an apartment at 143 South Ave. in Arlington, just between the Bayonne and Goethals Bridges near the island’s northwest shore.

Reports say that she was a mother of two boys and each were present during the apparent gunfire—though that is not yet confirmed by the NYPD.

No weapons were recovered at the scene on Staten Island, police reports indicate.

Police haven’t made an arrest and haven’t declared a motive in the homicide yet, but they are looking at a suspect believed to have left the scene in a black SUV, reports say.

Meanwhile, just hours later another woman was found dead near Pleasant Plains towards the island’s southwest shore.

She was found unconscious nearby Bloomingdale Park and Drumgoole Road around 9:30 this morning by the Korean War Veterans Memorial Parkway, where emergency services pronounced her dead on the scene.

Police have not indicated any connections between the nearby cases at this time and causes of death have not been determined yet.
