Just picked, tree-ripened apples are a real thing of beauty. And they taste delicious too! In September and October, apple picking is all the rage (just check your Instagram feed for proof). There’s no doubt that hard cider is making a spirited comeback in the U.S. and especially in N.Y. State, where cider-making is supported by the Cuomo Administration’s Taste NY initiative. You can support all the producers too by buying cider but also taking part in Cider Week NYC , which starts on Oct. 24.

For those of you who love the pumpkin spice lattes, this is your season. Almost every coffee shop in the city is indulging in the trend and making a “coffee” drink for you to, likewise, indulge in. So there’s that. But if you’re a pumpkin purist, who loves the taste of actual pumpkin, then this is also your season: the season of pumpkin pie, one of the best things in the world, and definitely one of the best things about fall.
