Federal Donuts’ NYC pop-up in NoLiTa serves up treats and fried chicken

Go nuts for doughnuts on Friday at Chefs Club NY in NoLiTa.

Philadelphia-based chef Mike Solomonov is bringing his shop Federal Donuts to Manhattan for a one day pop-up. You may know Solomonov from his hummus concept store, Dizengoff, in Chelsea Market.

Friday’s menu will, of course, feature doughnuts, served from 7  to 11 a.m. Treats will include $2 “hot fresh” made-to-order doughnuts, rolled in either cinnamon-sugar, strawberry-lavender or apollonia, an orange blossom, cocoa and clove spice. You can also opt for a $3 “fancy” glazed doughnut — flavors include chocolate éclair, blueberry pancake and marshmallow-marshmallow.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Solomonov will also be serving up an $8 fried chicken sandwich complete with twice-fried chicken breast, buttermilk ranch seasoning, American cheese, dill pickles and “spicy rooster sauce” on a Martin’s potato roll.
