On Sundays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., local farmers and purveyors are selling their produce at the new South Village Greenmarket, located on Sixth Ave. between Downing and Houston Sts. On its opening day, the new Greenmarket featured a cooking demonstration by Sefton Stallard, head chef of Blue Ribbon Bakery.
The South Village Greenmarket is run by the same organization that runs the Union Square Greenmarket and is sponsored by the Carmine St., Bedford-Downing and W. Houston block associations. It will run on Sundays through December.
